realme 12+ 5G and all the “pluses” it contains
Jakarta (MidLand) – At the end of February, realme introduced its flagship mobile phone for the global market, namely the realme 12+ 5G in Indonesia, offering a luxurious design inspired by classic watches with a multitude of attractive specifications at its price of market.
One of the specs that catches your attention is the presence of a 50MP main camera that features a Sony LYT-600 sensor that is usually found on high-end mobiles.
Naturally, the presence of this sensor on the realme 12+ 5G is an added value to make the photographic experience on this mid-range mobile phone seem like that of a high-end mobile phone.
MidLand also had the opportunity to try this smartphone as daily driver for almost a month and proves that the “plus” label is not just a mere statement and this mobile is truly reliable and here is the full review.
Design and screen
Starting from the design side, this smartphone actually has a design more or less the same as its older brother, the realme 12 Pro+ 5G.
The impression of luxury is very evident in the realme 12+ 5G, especially when you look in detail at the camera section which has a “glossy sunray dial”.

How could it not be, because this cell phone was designed by the famous luxury watch designer Ollivier Saveo who prepared this display to show the beauty of the 500 line accents like the sun’s rays.
Color Pioneer green ON vegan leather This cell phone makes a luxurious impression camera housing realme 12+5G becomes thicker like a belt which completes the look of a classic luxury watch.
Talking about its size of 6.67 inches, realme 12+ 5G has the right screen size. Not too small and not too big, so it’s comfortable to hold.
If necessary, this cell phone can still be used with one hand, especially when you have to stand in certain conditions on the KRL or MRT.
With an AMOLED screen, the visual experience offered by this mobile is very smooth. When scrolling or switching between apps, supported images are supported update frequency 120Hz is very smooth. IP54 certification, e.g dust AND water resistance It also works well on realme 12+ 5G.
One of the other features integrated into the screen of this mobile is “Rainwater Smart Touch” which makes it easy to access the mobile and remains smooth to use even in rainy weather.
I used it several times to reply to short important messages or to write news in notebooks while I was a passenger on board mototaxi online in rainy conditions and this is very useful because the screen remains responsive and keeps coordination and precision in working more smoothly.
Superior camera performance
From the camera’s performance during a month of use, you could say that the realme 12+ 5G lives up to its “portrait master” lingo.
The LYT-600 sensor which has a focal length of 26mm supports 2x zoom function in the sensor and 2x cinematic portrait mode making this mobile phone reliable in all conditions.
Apart from the main camera, there is also an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro camera which complete the triple rear camera setup of the realme 12+ 5G.

It all works beautifully in various shooting patterns, both during the day with lots of natural sunlight, and at night with minimal light.
Below are some photos produced using realme 12+ Pro, for example for portrait mode shots at night, the resulting bokeh effect looks very natural and makes the object of the photo seem captured more clearly even if it only relies on lights yellow and dim from the bar.
When used to capture detailed photos of still objects, this cell phone camera captures details very well, such as water drops on tomatoes or details of flower petals.
When capturing moments of moving objects, the “SuperOIS” and “Snap Portait System” features present on this mobile phone are indeed very reliable, even when exploring the “Long Exposure” mode at night, helping users produce a variety of wonderful photos.
If you need additional elements to embellish your photo shots, this mobile phone also provides several interesting filters that can be explored in collaboration with Oscar-winning cinematographer Claudio Miranda.
There are three filters, namely “Journey”, inspired by the movie “Life of Pi”, highlighting high-contrast colors that can reduce yellow shades.
Then there’s the “Memory” filter inspired by the movie “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” which emphasizes cool tones while reducing color saturation to create a calm, cinematic photography style.
Finally there is the “Maverick” filter, inspired by the film “Top Gun Maverick”, which gives a retro-style photographic sensation by increasing contrast and noise and strengthening yellow and green tones.
All the photos produced provide satisfactory results when used with mobiles in its category, fulfilling the realme 12+ 5G’s claims of “Capture Clearer, Portrait Master”.

When used to play various games for quite a long time, this smartphone shows satisfactory performance. Starting from relatively light games like Ojol the Game to graphics-intensive games like Mobile Legend, everything can be handled.
Overall, visually everything looks smooth, the audio is real-time with the game in progress, especially when you set the mode, both Balance Mode and Pro Gamer Mode, both of which offer an excellent experience.
When used to play in Balance mode for Ojol the Game, for example, the graphics offered are still very smooth with fluid movements that make the experience of being an Ojol simulator more real.
Then when you access the Pro Gamer mode for the “Mobile Legend” game the experience offered is also interesting. While playing for 30 minutes in an air-conditioned room at 25 degrees Celsius, the battery drained quite a bit, up to 10%, but no heat came from the phone, indicating that the Vapor Chamber’s cooling system was working optimally.
SETTING frame rate Super and graphics in Ultra mode, the graphics look very stable and smooth, there is no lag, making the game fun.
Talking about battery life, with a 5000mAh battery, this cell phone is reliable for daily use with an average reduction in battery usage of around 70% every day.
With 67 Watt ultra-fast charging support, the charging experience is so fast that there is nothing to complain about the power of this smartphone.
Conclusion
Priced at IDR 4,199,000 in the Indonesian market, available in both electronics outlets and online channels, realme 12+ 5G deserves to be called a mid-class mobile phone but is packed with cellular experience flagship.
Especially when it comes to photos, it’s a shame to miss shots that look like the result of a premium cell phone camera. Apart from that, its performance in terms of productivity and entertainment is also stable and balanced, making this mobile another plus.
For those of you who are looking for a new middle class mobile phone before Eid al-Fitr 1445H, I think this mobile phone is a suitable friend to have, especially for those of you who like to capture moments through pictures.
