Profile of Natan Pahabol, Deputy Governor of Papua Highlands for the 2024 Regional Elections
Jakarta (MidLand) – Natan Pahabol is one of the candidates for deputy governor (cawagub) of Mountainous Papua in the 2024 regional elections.
Natan accompanies Befa Yigibalom as a candidate for governor. In the 2024 regional elections, this pair is supported by political parties, including the Perindo Party, NasDem, PKS, PSI and PKN.
Natan Pahabol is originally from the Yali tribe, born in Wineuk on May 27, 1980.
In his political career, Natan Pahabol is a member of the Papuan People’s Representative Council (DPRP) of the Gerindra faction.
As a Gerindra Party cadre, Natan Pahabol is also the chairman of the Gerindra Party DPD for Mountain Papua.
He was tasked to serve in the Papua DPR during the periods 2014-2019 and 2019-2024 with the electoral districts of Pengunungan Bintang, Yahukimo and Yalimo which are now part of the Papua Mountains region.
In this legislative body, Natan Pahabol is part of the Commission V, responsible for the welfare of the people and social culture.
It also often improves the quality of education, one of which is encouraging literacy, especially in the area it represents, among the Yali tribe through various illiteracy eradication programs.
Now, in the 2024 regional elections, Befa Yigibalom-Natan Pahabol officially appointed themselves as the cagub and cawagub of Papua Mountain and registered with the KPUD of Papua Mountain Province on August 28, 2024.
For your information, Papua Mountain Province is the New Autonomous Region (DOB) of Papua which will hold the 2024 Governor and Deputy Governor elections for the first time.
