Gaza (MidLand) – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi reiterated his rejection of plans to forcibly relocate Gazans inside or outside Palestinian territory.
In his meeting with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen who is visiting Cairo, Sisi discussed developments in Gaza, where Israeli air and ground attacks since October 7 have killed more than 12,000 Palestinians, more than half of them women and children.
During the meeting, the Egyptian presidential office said Sisi reiterated “Egypt’s position regarding the need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, protecting civilians and ensuring the delivery of aid to the people of Gaza who are experiencing terrible humanitarian suffering”.
He highlighted Egypt’s “firm rejection of the forced relocation of Palestinians, both inside and outside their homeland, especially in the Egyptian lands of Sinai.”
