Precipitation in West Java is expected to be medium to high in early February

MidLand, Jakarta – Climatological Station of the Agency of Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics (BMKG) West Javabased on data updates as of January 31, 2024, it predicts rain in almost all areas of West Java it is classified as medium-high in the first ten days of February 2024.

In the period from February 1 to 10, 2024, 79% of West Java is expected to receive medium category rainfall, i.e. between 50 and 150 millimeters per month, which includes the areas of Bogor, Depok, parts of Bekasi, Karawang , Subang, Indramayu, Cirebon and brass parts. Then parts of Sukabumi, Cianjur, Greater Bandung, Garut, Tasikmalaya, Ciamis, Banjar and Pangandaran.

Meanwhile, 20% of the areas are expected to have high rainfall between 150 and 300 millimeters per day, namely parts of Bogor, Bekasi, Karawang border area with Purwakarta and Subang, Sumedang, Majalengka, Cirebon, Kuningan and Ciamis. There is 1% of the area where rainfall is low category, namely on the southern coast of Cianjur.

Based on the forecast of the nature of the rain, only 39% is considered normal, such as in the areas around the borders of Depok, Bogor, Bekasi, Karawang, Purwakarta, parts of Greater Bandung, north of Subang, Indramayu, Cirebon, Kuningan, Ciamis, Garut, Tasikmalaya, Ciamis and Pangandaran.

Meanwhile, 44% of precipitation in these areas is below normal, and 17% of other areas are above normal. The areas include parts of Karawang, Subang, Indramayu, Sumedang, Majalengka and Kuningan.

From the monitoring results of West Java BMKG climate station at the end of January, rainfall in 58% of West Java was medium category, 25% was high, and 15% had low rainfall. Rain is very heavy in 2% of the areas such as Sukabumi and Garut.
