PPPA Minister: Women are an important resource for national development
Jakarta (MidLand) – Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA), Bintang Puspayoga, stressed that women are an important resource in national development, because they have extraordinary potential and can make significant contributions.
“Women are extraordinary resources and potentials who can contribute significantly, if given the opportunity to work according to their skills and expertise in their respective fields,” Bintang said online at the SheHacks 2024 launch event, in Jakarta , Thursday.
According to Bintang, based on the 2020 population census, it emerges that women occupy almost half of the Indonesian population. This shows that women have a very important role in holding half of the HR power in this country.
Minister Bintang also highlighted that women have great potential in supporting economic growth, especially through digital transformation, because by using technology, women can accelerate prosperity and improve the quality of life.

Digital transformation offers women the opportunity to increase their income, broaden their job prospects and increase their skills and expertise through access to new knowledge and insights.
Advanced technology plays an important role in enabling women to contribute across all sectors, strengthening their position in the development of society and the economy as a whole.
“Through the adoption of technology, women have the opportunity to increase their income, increase job prospects, and gain knowledge and insights to increase their skills and competencies. “Advanced technology helps women become more empowered and capable of contributing in all fields,” Bintang said.
The PPPA Ministry also highly appreciates the return of the SheHacks program initiated by Indosat Oredoo, as it is a positive strategic step in encouraging women to reach their full potential in accordance with the demands of the current era.
Bintang said the SheHacks program is an innovative activity to encourage the existence and contribution of women in taking on roles in contemporary competition.
The PPPA Ministry hopes that through SheHacks they will be able to transform the challenges and obstacles they face into effective innovation opportunities.
