Police confiscated 14 packages of drugs from a drug dealer in OKU

Baturaja (MidLand) – The anti-drug unit of the Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) police in South Sumatra confiscated 14 packets of crystal methamphetamine from a drug dealer with the initials WS (42), a resident of Semidang Aji district, OKU regency.

“The perpetrator was arrested at his home yesterday afternoon around 5pm WIB,” AKBP police chief Imam Zamroni of Ogan Komering Ulu in Baturaja said on Sunday.

The police chief explained that the suspect was a methamphetamine dealer who was disturbing people in the area.

The suspect was arrested after officers disguised themselves as buyers pretending to purchase methamphetamine from WS at his residence.

Police seized from the suspect’s possession evidence of 14 packages of methamphetamine-type drugs ready for distribution, with a gross weight of 9.07 grams.

The police also confiscated a digital scale, a mobile phone, a bale of transparent plastic paper clips and IDR 1,650,000 in cash.

The police chief explained that the arrest of the suspect was a response to reports from the public who were concerned about drug trafficking in OKU regency.

This complaint was followed by an investigation until the members managed to get the name of the suspected drug dealer and immediately raided his home.

“Currently the suspect and all evidence have been secured at OKU Police Headquarters for further legal proceedings,” he stressed.

For his actions, the suspect was charged under Article 114, paragraph 2, sub-article 112, paragraph 2, of Law No. 35 of 2009 on Narcotics.
