PLN ensures that the electricity supply for Kudus customers is maintained safely
Kudus (MidLand) – PT PLN ensures that electricity supply to customers in Kudus Regency, Central Java and surrounding areas remains safe, even if the Kudus main substation in Jalan Agil Kusumadya is affected by floods.
“Even though the main substation office of PT PLN Kudus was hit by a flood, God willing, the electricity supply will remain safe,” Nurbowo Dwinalto, public relations manager of the Implementation Unit of the customer service of PLN Kudus (UP3), in Kudus.
To deal with the floods, he said, a water extraction machine has been prepared. Meanwhile, a dam has been built at the entrance to prevent water from entering the substation area.
The safety of the PLN substation, he added, is important because it is the main support for customers in Kudus Regency and surrounding areas with a power of 150-500 kV.
“So it’s a priority and takes precedence over the little things. However, if the flow of water continues to increase, obviously there’s a risk of widespread blackouts. But with the pump machines and dikes in place, hopefully that will be Safe.” He said.
As for the electricity blackout on the connections of the houses of the customers affected by the flood, he said, this was done to ensure the safety of the inhabitants of the houses from unwanted things.
“If it stays on it’s very risky, so when the flood recedes it will be turned back on,” he said.
