especially for lower class SMEs, we provide support through loans, especially pledges, because procedurally the mechanism is simpler

Jakarta (MidLand) – PT Pegadaian Finance and Strategic Planning Director Ferdian Timur Satyagraha said his party is trying to help MSMEs mitigate the impact of climate change by providing sustainable social financing (Sustainable social loan) amounting to IDR 2 trillion in 2024.

“We provide this to people affected by climate change, especially lower class MSMEs support “through loans, especially pledges, because from a procedural point of view the mechanism is simpler,” Ferdian Timur Satyagraha said in Jakarta on Wednesday.

According to him, it is often assumed that the issue of climate change concerns only the mining and oil sectors, even though there is a correlation between this issue and the financial industry and community economic activities, for example in the agricultural sector.

According to him, climate change could lead to a reduction in the capacity of agricultural production assets and the quality of production of MSMEs operating in this sector.
