Majalengka (MidLand) – The management of West Java International Airport (BIJB) Kertajati noted that passenger travel activity via the airport’s aviation facilities increased by 20% during the airport’s return transportation period. ‘Eid 2024.
Nuril Huda, executive general director of BIJB Kertajati, said the largest increase in passengers occurred on Saturday (6/4), reaching 2,386 people with 16 aircraft movements.
“During the Eid period, transportation has increased compared to previous days. “Starting from Wednesday (3/4), the peak of the flow returning home will be on Saturday,” Nuril told BIJB Kertajati Majalengka, West Java, Sunday.
He said that since the return transport took place until now, the number of passengers flying from BIJB Kertajati was 7,386 people or an average of 1,836 passengers per day.
Meanwhile, he said, on normal days the average number of passengers at BIJB Kertajati varies from 1,000 to 1,300 passengers.
Nuril is optimistic that passenger volume at the airport will increase, because many people are expected to travel from BIJB Kertajati.
“Now there are still around 7,000 passengers. “The possibility could increase,” she said.
Furthermore, he said that so far the total flight activity at BIJB Kertajati has reached 70 aircraft movements.
On average, there were 14 aircraft movements per day during this year’s homecoming flow. “There are three preferred routes, namely Denpasar, Kualanamu and Balikpapan,” he told her.
Earlier, the BIJB Kertajati management had made preparations by arranging various vehicles and facilities for passengers traveling home and back for Eid 2024.
This preparation was even directly reviewed by the Minister of Transport (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi on March 9, 2024.
