Palangka Raya police emphasize the practice of extortion against common enemies

Palangka Raya (MidLand) – Police in Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan, have stressed that the practice of illegal extortion (extortion) is a common enemy, as it greatly disturbs the community.

Palangka Raya Police Chief Commissioner Budi Santosa in Palangka Raya on Sunday said his party has always worked as hard as possible to reduce the risk of extortion in the local police jurisdiction.

“Almost every day, our Sector Police personnel in the Palangka Raya Police jurisdiction conduct intensive public awareness campaigns regarding the dangers of extortion both in urban areas and at the sub-district level away from the city,” Budi Santosa said.

The three-ranking officer of the national police also stressed that so far there have been no reports of people committing extortion in the area.

Although there have been no reports or findings at this time, his party will continue to provide information to all residents so that they do not commit acts of extortion that could cause misery to the people of Palangka Raya town.

“The outreach we often do to the community aims to reduce the potential for extortion in each region,” he said.

Previously, Rakumpit police chief Ipda Joko Susilo said his personnel in his jurisdiction regularly carried out community awareness activities in Rakumpit subdistrict regarding extortion.

Fortunately, during this socializing activity, the local community was very happy and said that the extortion disturbed them when this happened.

“One of our ways to educate the public is to raise awareness about Presidential Decree No. 87 of 2016 on the Task Force Against Sabre Raising,” Joko Susilo explained.

Before concluding his conversation, he reminded that the practice of extortion is a common enemy, if not tackled firmly, it will disturb the society.

“This is why we join forces in the fight against extortion in all areas of public service,” said Joko Susilo.
