Pacific finally won at IBL 2024

Jakarta (MidLand) – Pacific Caesar Surabaya finally achieved their first victory in IBL 2024 after defeating Kalimantan representatives Borneo Hornbills with a score of 92-86 in a match played on Friday at GOR Laga Tangkas Bogor, which erased the negative record of five consecutive defeats.

Pacific, which has continued to lose in its last five games, finally got back on its feet at the end of a game that almost had them losing six straight.

The Borneo Hornbills almost controlled the game throughout the match and had a lead of up to 13 points. They led from the first to the third quarter with the help of Jamarr Jhonson who collected 31 points and 10 rebounds.

Based on match statistics reported on the IBL official website, another foreign Borneo Hornbills player scored double-double it was Travion Leonard with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Najeal Young also added 24 points for the Kalimantan team.

However, Pacific managed to turn the tables twice in the fourth quarter. They hit four 3-pointers in the final quarter for a total of 19 points scored at the end of the game.

This time, Pacific not only relies on the skills of foreign players, but also on the play of local players.

M Ariezky recorded 23 points in this game, with 21 coming from three-point shots. He managed to hit 7 three-point shots out of a total of 14 attempts, which is an accuracy of 50%.

Besides Ariezky, another local player who helped Pacific win was captain Gregorio Wibowo. He almost recorded a double-double with 16 points and 9 assist.

Stephan Hurt was Pacific’s leading scorer with 28 points and 15 rebounds, and Jaylyn Richardson nearly had a triple-double with 16 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assist.

With this win, Pacific recorded 1 win and 5 losses which put them in seventh place in the NBA rankings. Meanwhile, the Borneo Hornbills replaced Pacific, having suffered five consecutive defeats and never tasted victory in the 2024 IBL.
