Tarakan (MidLand) – The North Kalimantan delegation achieved several proud results at the 11th national Swayamwara Tripitaka Gatha (STG) or various religious competitions for all Indonesian Buddhists in Magelang 2023 and entered the top six of the 32 provincial contingents.
“Among them, the first place winner in the art of Buddhist calligraphy written by Shanty Dewi took verses from the Mahaparinibbana Sutta,” said Buddhist Community Orientation Officer, Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion, North Kalimantan Province , Sugiyo in Tanjung Selor, Bulungan. , Sunday.
At the event which took place from 1 to 5 November 2023, North Kalimantan also won first place in the traditional lion dance performed by the North Kalimantan contingent with the theme “Brave lions save turtles, spread love, reap happiness.”
The other achievement from North Kalimantan, namely the Mandarin lecture given by Halfini Anggono, with the main theme “Religious Moderation”, received first place.
Of the nine competitions they participated in, the North Kalimantan contingent managed to secure sixth place nationally out of a total of 32 other provincial contingents.

Meanwhile, North Kalimantan Governor Zainal Arifin Paliwang congratulated the North Kalimantan contingent for reaching sixth place nationally.

At least 1,254 participants took part in the 11th national Swayamvara Tripitaka Gatha activity series in 2023 in Magelang.
