Nintendo will announce a successor to the Nintendo Switch before March 2025
Jakarta (MidLand) – Nintendo will announce a successor console to Nintendo Switch this fiscal year or before March 2025, Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa said in his post on social network X on Tuesday.
“We will make an announcement about the successor to the Nintendo Switch later this fiscal year. It has been more than nine years since we announced the appearance of the Nintendo Switch in March 2015,” Furukawa wrote in a post on the X account @NintendoCoLtd .
Furukawa added that Nintendo will not reveal details about the Nintendo Switch successor during the Nintendo Direct event next June. The event will focus on the introduction of a series of new games for the Nintendo Switch console that will be released in the second half of 2024.

So, fans of the Nintendo console will have to wait to learn more about this latest console until at least the second half of 2024.
“We will be holding a Nintendo Direct this June to announce the Nintendo Switch software lineup for the second half of 2024, but please note that a Nintendo Switch successor will not be mentioned during that presentation,” Furukawa wrote.
It is known that as of March 2024, the Nintendo Switch console has sold 141 million units worldwide, making it the third best-selling game console to date after PlayStation 2 and Nintendo DS.
According to a report from Engadget on Tuesday, the Nintendo Switch’s top sales were driven by popular game titles released on the console such as “The Legends of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom” and “Super Mario Bros. Wonder.”
This year, Nintendo will release a series of new games on Nintendo Switch, such as “Paper Mario”, which is scheduled for release on May 23, 2024, and “Luigi’s Mansion 2” on June 27, 2024.
