Nearly 90% of companies listed on the Beijing Stock Exchange made profits in the third quarter of 2023

Beijing (MidLand) – Nearly 90% of companies listed on the Beijing Stock Exchange (BSE) made profits in the third quarter (Q3) of this year, according to BSE data.

These companies reported revenue of 120.35 billion yuan, equivalent to approximately 16.76 billion US dollars, in the first nine months of 2023, an increase of 2.59% year-on-year (y-o-y).

During this nine-month period, half of the listed companies recorded annual growth in net profit, and 26 of them recorded growth above 50%.

According to the BSE, listed companies are expected to achieve better profitability in the last quarter.

These companies increased research and development (R&D) investment in the first three quarters of 2023, with total R&D funding reaching 5.19 billion yuan, an increase of more than 8% (on annual basis), BSE said.
