MPR Vice President: This year the implementation of Hajj pilgrimage was better
Jakarta (MidLand) – Vice President of the Indonesian People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Yandri Susanto assessed that the implementation of the Hajj pilgrimage this year was better than previous years.
He made this statement in response to the emergence of disagreements in various circles regarding the formation of a Special Committee (Pansus) for the rights of inquiry for the implementation of the 2024 Hajj.
“The proof is that there is no abandonment and accumulation of Hajj pilgrims in Muzdalifah like last year,” Yandri said in a written statement received in Jakarta on Sunday.
He said that the Hajj pilgrims were satisfied with the services provided. He got this impression when he visited the accommodation place of the Hajj pilgrims directly.
“The culmination of the Hajj in Arafah, Muzdalifah and Mina went smoothly. The congregation was able to worship well,” he said.

According to him, it is not an easy matter to coordinate and ensure that the Hajj goes well, especially since this year’s Indonesian Hajj congregation is the largest in history.
However, he said that Amirul Hajj and all their staff managed to perform Hajj well.
“If there is a deficiency, there certainly is, but not in nature greater and significant,” he said.

Previously, the 21st Plenary Meeting of the DPR RI for the Period of Session V for the Session Year 2023-2024, at the Parliamentary Complex in Jakarta, on Tuesday (9/7), approved the formation of the Special Committee for the Hajj Monitoring Questionnaire.
“Can we accept the formation and composition of the names of the members of the special committee for monitoring the Hajj as proposed?” said DPR RI Vice President Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar, who was greeted with a response of “agreement” from DPR RI members who attended the session.
Muhaimin said the special committee will assess the mistakes in the organization of the Hajj pilgrimage so that they do not occur in subsequent years, which could potentially harm potential Hajj pilgrims who have been queuing for decades.
The formation of the special committee and the composition of its members are in accordance with the applicable regulations, namely that the members of the special committee are constituted by the PDI Perjuangan faction (seven people), the Golkar Party (4), the Gerindra Party (4), the NasDem Party (3), the Democratic Party (3), the PKS (3), the PAN (2) and the PPP (1).
