Mount Rinjani National Park cleans up waste on climbing routes, there is plastic, cans and tissues

TIME.CO, Jakarta – Hall Mount Rinjani National Park o TNGR West Nusa Tenggara together with Rinjani Circle Tourism Forum carried out waste cleaning activities on Sembalun tourist climbing route and Torean climbing route towards Mount Rinjani area, East Lombok Regency.

The head of the West Nusa Tenggara TNGR Center, Dedy Asriady in Mataram, on Saturday, October 28, 2023, stated the position clean up carried out along the route and the Sembalun climbing area field Plawangan Sembalun towards Segara Anak Lake.

“The total amount of waste collected along the climbing route was 130 kilograms,” he said.

Meanwhile, on the Torean climbing route, the total waste collected was 87 kilograms at each location clean up along the Torean climbing route, the camping area and Segara Anak Lake.

“Types of waste from activities clean up “These are plastic waste, plastic bottles, canned bottles, glass bottles, textiles and organic waste,” he said.

He said that the presence of waste on Mount Rinjani certainly does more than just disturb the view and make the nature of Rinjani look dirty. Ultimately, the waste left by unscrupulous climbers on Mount Rinjani will destroy the ecosystem within it.

“The garbage thrown away will definitely damage the tourist beauty of Mount Rinjani area,” he said.

Therefore, he appealed to the public and mountaineers to work together to maintain the cleanliness, sustainability and beauty of Mount Rinjani by avoiding careless littering and always obeying applicable regulations.

“Cleaning it is the beginning of an evaluation of someone’s good and bad. “A good personality will keep himself, his environment and the natural environment clean,” he said.
