Ministry of Transport: 414,547 private cars entered and exited Jabodetabek H1 Eid

Jakarta (MidLand) – The Ministry of Transport (Kemenhub) said that based on data from H1 Eid 2024 or Wednesday (4/10/2024), the number of private cars leaving and entering Jabodetabek was 414,547 vehicles both through the Jasamarga toll road and through arterial roads.

“For private transport, based on data from the first half of Eid, the number of cars leaving and entering Jabodetabek via Jasamarga and arterial toll roads was recorded as 414,547 vehicles and 2,072,735 people,” Transportation Ministry spokeswoman Adita Irawati said in Jakarta on Thursday.

It said that this figure increased by 18.87% compared to the normal daily period in 2024, while compared to 2023, there was a decrease of 37.79%, or 666,399 vehicles and 3,331,995 people.

Adita explained that there were 264,373 cars leaving Jabodetabek via Jasamarga and arterial toll roads and 1,321,865 people. This number decreased by 35.88% compared to last year, or 412,307 vehicles and 2,061,535 people.

“Meanwhile, compared to the normal daily period, this number increased by 59.26%,” Adita said.

Meanwhile, 150,174 cars and 750,870 people entered Jabodetabek via the Jasamarga toll road and arteries. This number decreased by 40.90% compared to last year, or 254,092 vehicles and 1,270,460 people.

“Compared to the normal daily period, this number decreased by 17.82%,” Adita said.

The Ministry of Transport also recorded that Eid 2024 public transport users based on first-half Eid data were 508,877 people.

Adita detailed the number of public transport passengers by mode of transport during H1 Eid, i.e. road transport up to 109,818 passengers. This number increased by 18.75% compared to 92,477 passengers last year and by 1.47% compared to normal daily movements.

Furthermore, the crossing transport amounted to 25,666 passengers. This number decreased by 85.07% compared to 171,876 passengers last year, but increased by 3.57% compared to normal daily movements.

Air transport of 175,906 passengers. This number increased by 3.23% compared to last year, or 170,402 passengers, and by 6.42% compared to normal daily movements.

Furthermore, sea transport amounted to 46,117 passengers. This number increased by 20.76% compared to 38,188 passengers last year and decreased by 32.81% compared to normal daily movements.

“Finally, rail transport amounted to 151,370 passengers. “This number increased by 11.76% compared to 135,437 passengers last year and by 36.54% compared to normal daily movements,” explained Adita.

Meanwhile, Transport Minister Budi Karya Sumadi appealed to travelers to return home this Friday (12/4) or Saturday (13/4).

“Therefore, as recommended by the president then, we should return soon. If possible, tomorrow or Saturday,” Budi said on Thursday at km 70 of the Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) toll road.

According to him, the return flow in these two days is still calm and will not cause congestion. The peak return flow is expected to be in H+3 and H+4 hours of Eid.

“Because there will definitely be a big increase on Sunday and Monday,” he said.

Budi said the Ministry of Transport together with the Traffic Corps of the National Police (Kakorlantas), Jasa Marga and related parties have started preparing so that there is no congestion during the reverse flow.

“So we really have to manage the existing days. We have four days, from tomorrow until Monday, Tuesday will come. The peak should be Sunday and Monday,” Budi explained.
