Ministry of Law and Human Rights: Immigration services are closed during Eid holidays and public holidays

The new immigration office will reopen on April 16, 2024.

Jakarta (MidLand) – Secretary of the General Directorate of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) Sandi Andaryadi said that the services of immigration offices across Indonesia will be temporarily closed during the Eid holidays and from the holidays from 8 to 15 April 2024.

For this reason, it has appealed to those wishing to arrange immigration services to complete them before Friday 5 April 2023, in order to avoid a spike in the number of passport applicants after the 2024 Eid holiday.

“Remember, Friday 5 April 2024 is the last working day before the Idul Fitri 1445 Hijriah holiday. So, for people who urgently need to apply for a passport or extend their residence permit, please complete it first,” he Sandi said in an official statement in Jakarta on Thursday.

Sandi explained that immediate processing of the residence permit extension should be avoided stay beyond or overstay, especially for foreign nationals (WNA).

In addition to the immigration office, he continued, visa application and extension services via evisa.imigration.go.id will also be temporarily closed during the Eid holidays.

Services that will continue to operate, he said, are departure and arrival controls at various immigration checkpoints throughout Indonesia, as well as services electronic visa on arrival (e-VoA) and electronic visit residence permit (e-ITK).

Indonesian (WNI) citizens who have urgent needs, he said, can use the one-day passport acceleration service.

The immigration office provides one-day expedited passport services, which can be accessed at all immigration offices at a cost of IDR 1 million plus a passport cancellation fee of IDR 350 thousand for a regular passport and IDR 650 thousand for a electronic passport.

Those who have finished processing their passport, Sandi said, will be able to collect it immediately before April 5, 2024 because the new immigration office will reopen on April 16, 2024.

On the other hand, he continued, people who already have a passport processing schedule after the Eid holidays, but are still in their hometown, can reschedule it via the M-Paspor application.

For emergency services such as passport processing for medical purposes abroad, Sandi said people can contact the telephone line of the nearest immigration office.
