Ministry of Communication and Information Ensures Clean Frequency Spectrum During AIS Summit Forum: Okezone techno

BALI – Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (Kominfo) carried out a frequency clearing operation during the Archipelagic and Island States (AIS) Forum summit. AIS Summit held at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC) Badung, Bali Province, from 10 to 11 October 2023.

This step is one of the technical procedures usually performed by the Ministry of Communications and Information, to protect international events from interference with telecommunications signals or networks, especially those without authorization.

“The technical anticipation has been carried out,” said Director General of Resources, Postal Equipment and Information Technology (SDPPI) of the Ministry of Communications and Information, Ismail, (10/10/2023) in his declaration.

In protecting telecommunications networks during the 2023 AIS Forum Summit, the Ministry of Communication and Information is tasked with supervising and focusing on frequency spectrum disturbances.

Beyond that, “we hope that public participation will be turned off, including operators of frequencies that are not licensed or close to the frequencies needed during the event,” he added.

In particular, Ismail also appealed to journalists covering the AIS Summit to be able to anticipate potential interference with cellular and WiFi telecommunications signals, especially during the flagship event of the AIS Forum Summit.

Because in the meeting attended by heads of state or representatives of AIS member countries, standard security procedures for jamming the signals of jammer devices were implemented.

To prevent signal and Internet interference, the Ministry of Communications and Information has prepared local area network (LAN) cables in the Media Center room. “This is a standard security procedure, so the Wi-Fi part might have some interference,” Ismail concluded.
