Ministry of Agriculture opens scholarships for 3000 people to create superior human resources for palm oil plantations
Jakarta (MidLand) – The Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) has opened the selection of scholarships for 3,000 people for the Human Resources Development for Palm Oil Plantations (SDMPKS) 2024 to create superior and quality human resources in the Indonesian palm oil sector.
“This registration is a collaboration between the Directorate General of Plantations of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency or BPDPKS,” the Director General of Plantations of the Ministry of Agriculture said on Sunday Agriculture Andi Nur Alam Syah in a statement in Jakarta. .
Andi assured that registration was free, meaning there was no cost. Registrations are open from April 5th and will end on May 24th. The quota that will be opened reaches 3,000 people, especially for those directly involved in the palm oil sector.
“This is evidence of the government’s commitment to developing quality human resources in the Indonesian palm oil sector. This grant is designed to produce superior quality human resources in the palm oil sector,” he said Andi.
According to Andi, this educational program will produce the best graduates who will strengthen the Indonesian palm oil industry so that it develops sustainably and provides social and economic benefits to the Indonesian people.
Andi said the scholarships provided include transportation costs from home to campus (Go-Round/PP), pocket money, money for books, education costs, internship at a palm oil company, certification of skills and graduation fees.
“We hope that this program can continue to produce a young generation of palm oil farmers who can continuously improve the palm oil industry in Indonesia and around the world,” he said.
Andi added that this year’s registration represents the fourth year of collaboration between the Directorate-General of Plantations and the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BDPPKS), which began in 2021.
“And now the total number of students who received scholarships from us has reached 3,660 people in D1, D2, D3, D4 and S1 levels. Masters and doctorates will be opened in the future,” Andi added.
