Meta: Effective instant messaging application for reaching customers
Jakarta (MidLand) – Technology giant Meta believes that more private channels to communicate with consumers help companies reach their customers effectively.
“If you look at it from a business perspective, they want to meet their customers wherever they are,” said Meta Business Messaging deputy director Nikila Srinivasan, in a video conference with reporters ahead of the annual Conversations conference, in Jakarta, on Wednesday ( 5/6 ).
Having a presence in cyberspace is now important for business people, including small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), to increase consumer confidence. Among the various ways currently available to connect with businesses, instant messaging applications, such as WhatsApp Business, are an effective way to communicate with customers, especially in countries that use instant messaging applications for daily communication.

“It seems more intuitive to use the applications and platforms we use every day, especially for SMBs,” Nikila said.
Having one-on-one conversations, Nikila says, is a good way for companies to get to know and build relationships with their customers.
“This is an effective way because consumers who want to be contacted are active on WhatsApp every day,” he said.

Metadata for Indonesia shows that seven in 10 people prefer to message companies rather than contact them via email. Nearly 9 in 10 Indonesians text a business at least once a week.
Globally, the WhatsApp Business application is used by over 200 million users.
