Jakarta (MidLand) – The fifth President of the Republic of Indonesia Megawati Soekarnoputri and her entourage met with the Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov at the Governor’s Office in St. Petersburg, Russia, on Tuesday.

In addition to the governor, the speaker of the St. Petersburg parliament. Alexander Belsky of St. Petersburg was also seen welcoming Megawati’s presence.

Megawati was accompanied by Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Bintang Puspayoga, PDIP DPP Foreign Affairs Chairman Ahmad Basarah, PDIP DPR RI Faction Member Herman Herry, Member of the Board of Directors of the National Agency for Research and Innovation (BRIN), Bambang Kesowo, Ambassador of St. Petersburg University, Connie Rahakundini Bakrie and Indonesian Ambassador to Russia Jose Tavares, as well as two friends of Megawati.

There was a light and warm conversation between the two sides in the hall. Governor Alexander Beglov also invited Megawati to a group photo session in one room.

They stood according to the flags of the two countries to which their positions were assigned. However, since Megawati was on the far left, Governor Alexander Beglov asked for the flags to be exchanged and Megawati was flanked by both.

This made everyone in the room laugh. Afterwards, Megawati and her entourage were invited to enter the room to continue the hospitality and have lunch together.
