The movement in support of Zaki must be intensified internally
Jakarta (MidLand) – The DKI Jakarta Family Mutual Cooperation Deliberation Community Organization (MKGR) has declared its support for DPD DKI Jakarta Golkar Chairman Ahmed Zaki Iskandar as a candidate for governor in the November 2024 DKI regional elections.
DPD MKGR DKI Jakarta President Basri Baco handed over the letter of recommendation or support to Ahmed Zaki Iskandar at the DPD Golkar DKI office, Jakarta on Thursday evening.
MKGR DKI Jakarta supports Zaki as Bacagub Jakarta because he sees his track record in government. In addition to being a member of the DPR RI (2009-2013), Zaki also served as regent of Tangerang for two terms (2013-2018 and 2018-2023).
“There are many considerations, but firstly Zaki has experience as a regional leader, secondly he has five years of experience leading a party,” Basri Baco said.
Zaki also managed to bring results in Golkar Jakarta, where Golkar’s seats in the DKI Jakarta DPRD in the 2024 legislative elections increased to 10 seats, although the 2019 legislative elections only had six seats.
Currently, the Golkar DPP has mandated three of its cadres to conduct assessments with the community, namely Ahmed Zaki Iskandar, Ridwan Kamil and Erwin Aksa.
Baco believes that Ridwan Kamil will definitely continue to fight in the West Java regional elections. Golkar doesn’t want Ridwan Kamil, who has quite a high rating there, to fight in Jakarta.
Meanwhile, Erwin Aksa must resign from the position he will hold as a member of the DPR RI for the period 2024-2029.
It is believed that the nephew of national political figure Jusuf Kalla will not give up his seat in the RI DPR because a lot of capital has been spent to fight in the legislative elections on February 14, 2024.
“When there is a rule that if he runs for regional elections he has to resign (member of the DPR of the Republic of Indonesia), he has not been nominated yet, he has to think twice, and he has never been regional head, he has never led Jakarta, only then is a legislative candidate elected, so it is not a parameter,” he explained.
Baco said the number of MKGR cadres in Jakarta has reached 30,480 people. This figure was obtained based on the assumption that in each RT there are two cadres of the total number of families in Jakarta.
“We have a large number of cadres, the range is approximately the number of RTs in Jakarta multiplied by two,” he said.
To make Zaki’s figure known in society, MKGR will build six posts. Five stations will be built in five areas of the city, while a main station will be in the Pesanggrahan area, south of Jakarta.
“Starting this week there was the first action of free distribution of glasses to the public, then others will follow because the objective is that every week there is a program for the next three months”, said the party president Golkar. Fraction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD.
He hopes that the existence of this position will strengthen Zaki’s figure in the eyes of the public because the more people know about him, the higher his level of eligibility at research institutions will be.
“Sometimes (the DPP’s) recommendations are based on surveys, even if friends from other cars also move, other organizations also move, other volunteers also move. So everyone must be able to move,” he explained.
Maco is of the opinion that the movement in support of Zaki needs to be intensified internally because when the public sees that Golkar and its sub-organisations are solid, public confidence in the promoted figure will certainly increase.
Meanwhile, DPD Golkar DKI Jakarta president Ahmed Zaki Iskandar felt flattered by the support of the Golkar wing’s mass organization MKGR.
He hopes that the support conveyed shows that Golkar is solid at the level of the Advisory Council, the management, up to the mass organizations.
“I would like to thank the mass organization MKGR of Jakarta province, I hope this support is proof that Golkar Jakarta is solid,” Zaki said.
According to him, DPP Golkar has not yet decided which cadres will be named as Bacagub/Bacawagub Jakarta. So far, Zaki has taken advantage of the existing momentum by regularly organizing political safaris of coalition parties in yesterday’s presidential and non-coalition elections.
“We organize socializing events and also social gatherings, yesterday we just passed the month of Shawwal, there were a lot of halalbihalal, this is also part of socializing in the community,” he said.
