TIME.CO, Jakarta – President Joko Widodo or Jokowi said a number school Primary schools in the Archipelago Capital (IKN) area will be revitalized to improve the quality of educational facilities and infrastructure in the area.
Jokowi said the revitalization of around six primary schools aims to ensure access to quality education, so that people no longer have any hesitation in moving to IKN.
“Not only at SDN 020 Sepaku, but we are also repairing and rehabilitating 5 other primary schools around IKN, so that later all our children can have good quality education, good quality facilities and infrastructure,” he said Jokowi during the laying of the foundation stone (groundbreaking) for the revitalization of SD Negeri 020 Sepaku, North Penajam Paser, East Kalimantan, Wednesday, November 1, 2023.
Jokowi admitted that he often heard doubts from the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) and the public regarding the move to the IKN. This concern arose due to concerns regarding the lack of access and quality of education at IKN.
“Many want to move to the capital of the archipelago, both our ASN and the community. “But people always ask: ‘Sir, if I move, where will my child go to school, what elementary school will it be in, how is the quality ‘, well, the answer is currently there, namely at SD Negeri 020 Sepaku, because it will be rehabilitated soon,’ he said.
The rehabilitation period for SDN 020 Sepaku, Jokowi said, will last up to 10 months.

“If anyone asks me again: ‘where will my second grade son move, where will my fifth grade son move’, the answer is already there, SDN 020 Sepaku and 5 other primary schools, whose quality we will improve,” he said Jokowi.
Jokowi explained that the rehabilitation program for SDN 020 Sepaku will complement the school facilities and infrastructure, i.e. with classrooms, laboratories, libraries, amphitheatres, canteens, reading rooms, multi-purpose fields, green areas, pond conservation and other support facilities.
