Denpasar (MidLand) – The Bali General Election Commission (KPU) has started receiving the results of the district/city level vote recap, currently three districts have submitted the plenary results, but not all of them are signed by the witnesses of the presidential office. and the No. 3 Ganjar-Mahfud vice presidential candidate duo.
“In all districts, witnesses of candidate pair No. 3 did not sign the examination report and raised objections or protests against the implementation process,” Bali KPU commissioner I Gede John Darmawan said in Denpasar on Monday.
The three districts that submitted the results of the vote recap plenary are Badung Regency, Gianyar Regency and Klungkung Regency.
According to John, the protests and demonstrations of reluctance to sign the results of this plenary were based on different reasons, but in general it was not a technical issue related to the elections in Bali, but rather the national implementation.
As in Badung Regency, candidate pair witness number 3 claimed that there was fraud by the government to win one of the candidate pairs and the temporary suspension of Sirekap’s application.
Bali KPU said that this will not affect the results of participants in the 2024 elections, the process of recapitulating votes in other districts/cities will continue until Klungkung Regency, which just started its plenary session on Tuesday (5/3 /2024).
“The summary process according to PKPPU number 5 continues to be carried out, the summary remains valid and has been ratified in the form of a decision letter by the respective district/city KPU,” said John.
For the three districts that do not contain the witness signature of the No. 3 candidate pair, a special incident form will be included during the countywide vote recap.
The plan is for the Bali KPU to start the vote recapitulation on March 8, 2024, because so far there are still districts/cities that have not finished carrying out their respective recapitulations.
John explained that the district/city level recapitulation was just reading the results of the subdistrict level recapitulation, and then compiling them into a Form D Results at the district/city KPU level.
“So, the process is in phases, so we know how many votes were obtained for the DPRD district candidates and for the DPRD provincial candidates in the district electoral district,” he said.
However, the Bali KPU stressed that the results of this plenary session have not determined the owners of the legislative seats because the process is still ongoing and there is a risk of legal action from participants in the 2024 elections.
