Jakarta (MidLand) – The Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) said that the case of sexual violence involving a 12-year-old girl in Medan, North Sumatra, has been reopened and that it was dismissed due to insufficient evidence. and the case was developed.
“Thank God, through the coordination meeting to discuss children’s cases, the case can be reopened and the possibility of other child victims can be developed,” said the deputy for special protection of children at the Ministry of the PPPA, Nahar, when contacted in Jakarta on Friday. .
Nahar explained that there was previously a 12-year-old boy suspected of being molested, but the case was dropped because there was insufficient evidence, including the absence of witnesses who saw the child being fucked or molested by the alleged perpetrator. do not prove that there was an episode of sexual intercourse or molestation against the child.
The alleged incident of sexual violence began around mid-March 2022 against two girls and was carried out by the perpetrator with the initials HBS (70) in a special women’s toilet in a mosque in Medan City.

“He was initially caught by two mosque worshipers who had finished praying, then they informed the mosque management and then handed him over to the neighborhood head, who then summoned a member of the Bhabinkantibmas of the Medan area police to resolve through legal channels at the Medan Police. But then (the case) will not proceed,” he said.
One of the victims with the acronym IPS (12) then told what happened to him to his grandmother and mother, who then reported the case to the police on March 31, 2022.
One year later, on 14 April 2023, a case was opened and, in accordance with the notification of the progress of the investigation results (SP2HP) of 8 September 2023, it was decided that the investigation had been stopped because it had not been no criminal incidents were detected.
Furthermore, on January 11, 2024, the victim’s parents filed a complaint directly with the PPPA Ministry.

“This was then followed by holding a coordination meeting on case management on January 31, 2024, where one of the recommendations was to immediately carry out extensive research and coordinate special protection for children in Medan City,” Nahar said.
On February 6, the Ministry of PPPA together with Kompolnas and Bareskrim Polri left for North Sumatra. His party is monitoring and listening to the clarifications of the Medan police regarding this case.
“The special case will be reopened and we will also ask the Medan police to investigate allegations of sexual intercourse or molestation against several children in Medan City, one of the victims of whom was the IPS,” Nahar said.
