Jokowi named the IKN Presidential Palace Garuda Palace
Jakarta (MidLand) – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has named the Presidential Office building in the Indonesian capital (IKN) Penajam Paser Utara (PPU) Garuda Palace, while the Presidential Palace IKN State Palace.
This was announced by the acting head of the IKN Authority, Basuki Hadimuldjono, after attending an internal meeting with President Jokowi at the Garuda IKN Building on Monday.
“He said, this is Garuda Palace, no longer the Office of the President, but its name is Garuda Palace. The one below is the State Palace,” Basuki told a press conference in the lobby of Garuda Palace.
IKN State Palace is a magnificent building that is the official residence of the President of Indonesia. Located in the central area of IKN Central Government (KIPP), North Penajam Paser Regency (PPU).
Meanwhile, Garuda Palace is located just behind the State Palace, on higher ground. The building is where the President has his office.
Basuki, who is also the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), said that the name of the palace as a facility for the President’s activities was official and could be recognized by the public.
“This name is official, this is Garuda Palace and there is the State Palace. Garuda Palace and the State Palace,” he said.
