TIME.CO, Jember – Senate Jember University announced six teachers as potential candidates principal (bacarek) for the term 2024-20228, Wednesday 27 September 2023. The appointment of the six bacareks took place in a meeting held on Monday 25 September 2023.
This decision is contained in the report of the Bacarek selection working committee through the decree of the President of the Senate number 008/UN25.6.1/KL/2023 regarding the results of the selection of candidates for rector of Jember University 2024-2028.
The six bacareks include, among others, Dr. Mohamad Na’im, M.Pd., of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. Dr. Ika Barokah Suryaningsih, SE, MM, from the Faculty of Business and Economics. the professor. Dr. Kahar Muzakhar, S.Sc., of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. Dr. Dewi Junita Koesoemawati, ST, MT, of the Faculty of Engineering. the professor. Dr. Dr. Sri Hernawati., M.Kes., of the Faculty of Dentistry, and Dr. Io. Iwan Taruna, M.Eng., IPM., of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology.
According to the chairman of the Bacarek Networking Working Committee, Fendi Setyawan, starting today his party will inform bacarek members of all working units of Jember University through an official letter containing a complete CV, vision, mission and work program.
Dissemination of information is also carried out through the unej.ac.id page, billboards, posters and other external media available on the Jember University campus. Also in three satellite campuses in Bondowoso, Lumajang and Pasuruan.
“The next stage is the screening of Bacarek which has two main activities on the agenda. That is to convey the vision, mission and work program of the future Chancellor before an open meeting of the Senate. “Secondly, the evaluation and determination of the three candidates for Chancellor by the Senate in a closed-door meeting,” Fendi said in his statement on Wednesday.

Fendi explained that the two activities are based on the provisions of Article 7 paragraph 1 of the Permenristekdikti number 19 of 2017. “And they must be carried out no later than two months before the end of the current Chancellor’s mandate. For your information, the current Chancellor’s term expires on January 31, 2024,” he said.
Of the six bacarek, it will later be filtered into three carek. “The three candidates for rector nominated by the Jember University Senate will then be presented to the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology no later than one month before the elections,” Fendi said.
Elections must take place at least two weeks before the end of the current chancellor’s term. The election took place in a closed-door meeting held by the Senate together with the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology.
