ITB gets an additional KIP application fee for new students, how much?

TIME.CO, Jakarta – Bandung Institute of Technology or ITB get an additional Smart Indonesia Card or KIP College fee for 23 people. However, this is not the case for many other state campuses in Bandung. “Maybe it’s different for each campus. “I see there are more campuses in eastern Indonesia, because the needs are greater,” ITB Student Affairs Director G. Prasetyo Adhitama said Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2023.

The selection of KIP Kuliah recipients from the additional quota at ITB has now been completed. All recipients are new students from 2023. The terms and conditions in the selection criteria, according to Prasetyo, are the same as the regulations for KIP Kuliah recipients nationwide. The additional share of KIP tuition from the government is usually available each year. He hopes there will be additional quotas in the same academic year.

Meanwhile, the ITB received a KIP conference quota for 421 people earlier this year, according to ITB Communications and Public Relations Office Head Naomi Haswanto. Now with the addition of 23 KIP conferences the total is 444 recipients. The award is based, among other things, on the accreditation of the study program.

On top of that, KIP Kuliah recipients must meet stringent requirements. “One of the strict requirements is that the parents’ income does not exceed IDR 4 million per month,” explains Naomi. Besides that, based on the profile data, students who have not registered with KIP Kuliah can be proposed by ITB to get a scholarship from the government.

KIP Kuliah, which replaced the Bidikmisi scholarship from 2020, is educational assistance from the government for high school graduates or equivalent who have good academic potential but have limited economic capabilities. Prospective students in need of a UKT scholarship at ITB can include a Smart Indonesia College Card (KIP) when submitting their application.

Announcement

KIP Kuliah recipients receive a guarantee of education costs paid directly by the government to the university based on the accreditation of their program of study. In addition, beneficiaries receive assistance with the cost of living, divided into five regional groups according to the results of the Cost of Living Survey and the National Socio-Economic Survey of the Central Statistics Agency. The amount of vital assistance for students receiving KIP Kuliah is IDR 800 thousand, IDR 950 thousand, IDR 1.1 million, IDR 1,250,000 and IDR 1.4 million per month.

Meanwhile, according to the head of the Public Communications Office of Padjadjaran University or Unpad, Dandi Supriadi, there is no information on the increase in the number of KIP conferences at Unpad so far. Likewise, according to Vice Chancellor for Education and Student Affairs of the Indonesian University of Education or UPI, Didi Sukyadi. “There is no information so far,” he said on Tuesday, October 31, 2023.
