IKN presents intelligent transportation, from autonomous mobility to drones

Jakarta (MidLand) – Archipelago Capital Authority (OIKN) head Bambang Susantono said that Archipelago Capital (IKN) will introduce intelligent modes of transportation by 2045, from autonomous mobility to drones.

“What will the transportation system in the archipelago look like in the next 30 years, in 2045? The intelligent transportation infrastructure of this city will include features such as advanced air mobility, autonomous vehicles, drones and robotics to improve the logistics system,” he said Bambang in an online seminar, Wednesday.

Bambang said IKN was designed to present an urban environment with a sustainable, efficient and inclusive approach.

According to him, this approach is important to encourage the use of public transport and active mobility such as walking and cycling.

By managing the transport sector, his party is not only trying to reduce traffic congestion, but also to create more space for public and active transport, as well as busy urban activities.

“The Nusantara strategy includes limiting parking, capacity and road facilities park and ride to keep traffic under control. “This progressive approach ensures a sustainable, efficient and inclusive urban environment,” she said.

Furthermore, Bambang said that in an effort to become an inclusive world-class city for all, IKN has established four key performance indicators (KPIs) related to the transportation sector. To achieve this KPI, the intelligent mobility and IKN approach focuses on three main benefits.

First, improve decision-making with real-time data analytics, which can prevent common errors in public transportation planning in some other cities.

Second, optimize public transport performance by providing information to passengers and operators, such as timetables and corridor conditions, thus improving user experience and operational efficiency.

Finally, the use of intelligent mobility aims to minimize human errors that can cause safety risks.

“This commitment to smart mobility confirms our determination for the sustainable transformation of urban mobility in the archipelago,” he said.

Bambang also called on all parties, including the Indonesian Intelligent Transport System (ITS), to be part of history in realizing IKN as the country’s capital that has smart and sustainable urban mobility.

Meanwhile, ITS Indonesia President William Sabandar said his party aims to create a framework that supports economic growth, protects the environment and promotes social inclusion.

ITS Indonesia, he said, is ready to explore innovative solutions and cutting-edge technologies that will shape the future of the Indonesian capital.

“This collaboration between ITS Indonesia and the New Capital Authority is evidence of our commitment to excellence and our dedication to making the new capital a beacon of modernity and sustainability,” said William.
