Grab obtains corporate competition compliance certificate
Jakarta (MidLand) – Grab Indonesia has become the first technology-based company to receive a certificate for establishing a business competition compliance program according to the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU) of the Republic of Indonesia.
Grab Indonesia National CEO Neneng Goenadi said PT Grab Teknologi Indonesia is committed to complying with Law Number 5 of 1999 Concerning the Prohibition of Monopoly Practices and Unfair Business Competition (UU No. 5/1999).
“This demonstrates our seriousness and commitment to preventing monopolistic practices and harmful business competition,” Neneng said during a press conference for the “Trade Competition Compliance Certificate Presentation Ceremony by Indonesian KPPU to Win the Indonesia” in Menteng area, Jakarta, on Monday.
According to Neneng, Grab Indonesia was also one of the first companies to take part in the registration program in the Business Competition Compliance Program (PKPU), launched on March 23, 2022.
The reason is that Grab Indonesia wants to participate in a joint effort to benefit the business activities of Indonesian companies to achieve healthy business competition.
“We officially started on January 7, 2022, from there we registered and we always consult and collaborate with KPPU for sustainable progress and there are always mini milestones achieved,” said Grab Indonesia head of public affairs Tirza Reinata Munusamy.
The certificate presented is valid for five years, from 2023 to 2028.
“KPPU has the principle of unlimited supervision of enterprises to stimulate innovation in better services. We also want to be like that, but we realize that the legal system in Indonesia requires supervision so that when violations occur, sanctions can be imposed for violations,” KPPU member Muhammad Reza said.
“We are not interested in imposing sanctions, we prefer that economic actors respect the principles of commercial competition, where these limits arise from business ethics. This obviously benefits consumers,” he also said.
