Besides that, the head of Google Indonesia is also very enthusiastic about the development of Indonesia’s digital economy, which is expected to reach $110 billion in 2025. “This will be the first Southeast Asian country to reach more than 100 billion dollars,” Randy said.
Randy not only discussed the development of Indonesia’s digital economy as a whole, but also examined the development of various digital sectors of the e-commerce economy, including travel, transportation, and cuisine.
Randy noted that overall e-commerce search growth was only 5%. “But from a travel perspective, the growth is huge, 68%,” he said. Randy added that there has been a decline in the culinary industry due to economic reasons and also the impact of Covid-19.
