Google launches “About this image” feature in Indonesian

Jakarta (MidLand) – Google today officially launched a feature called “About This Image” in Indonesian to make it easier for people to find information and maintain their critical sense of information circulating in the digital space.

In Google’s official statement on Friday, this feature is there to complement the already existing feature, namely “About these results”, which will be launched in 2023. This feature can be found easily when users search.

“Google continues to provide tools and programs to help users understand the sources of the information they find,” Google said in a statement regarding the feature.

How to use this feature is quite simple: when they find an image in search results, users can discover the source by clicking on the three dots at the top right of the selected image and then selecting “About this image”.

Another way to access it is to click “More about this page” in the “About these results” section of the Google search results page to get information about your image history.

Some information will appear, such as whether the image has previously been published on other pages of the site, how other sites use and describe the image, etc. metadata image.

By knowing the origin of the image, the information displayed also helps us understand the context of the image we are viewing.

The hope is that with the presence of “About this image” in Indonesian, it will be easier for people to sort information from trusted sources.
