Google allows users to ask their friends to pay for application subscriptions

Jakarta (MidLand) – Google in early May 2024 through the Google I/O forum introduced a new payment innovation in its application store, namely Playstore, where users who subscribe to an application can ask the their colleagues to pay their subscription fees.

Normally, when an Android user subscribes to a service from an application, the user will be directed to pay the subscription fee himself using various types of payment methods, be it via digital wallet, credit or debit card. on line, or pay in store.

In the Phone Arena report, Saturday (25/5), the presence of this option allows users to ask multiple subjects, starting from family or friends, to pay the application subscription fees or any purchase transactions at the inside the application.

Next, this option will direct users to create a payment link that will be sent via SMS or email to the friend or family member who is being asked to pay.

Here’s how to take advantage of this feature, when the user is directed to checkout or make a payment, the user will find “Select Payment Method”.

At the bottom in addition to the ability to pay with various methods, there will be a new option that says “Ask someone else to pay”.

Subsequently, users who choose this option will be able to send payment links to other people of their choice.

Users can send an automatically generated payment link to the person of your choice with two choices of sending methods, via short message such as SMS or via email.

The person who pays the subscription fee or in-app purchase is required to know your email address completely and correctly. The link will expire after 24 hours.

The unique thing is that the chosen person who paid for the application can actually ask for a refund.

A normal refund policy will allow the recipient to request a refund on a purchase if less than 48 hours have passed since the purchase was made.

This service that asks other people to pay for app subscriptions or in-app purchases through Google will start rolling out in India and will gradually be added in other countries.
