Five dramatic goals colored Girona’s victory over Real Betis

Jakarta (MidLand) – Five dramatic goals colored Girona’s victory over Real Betis with a score of 3-2 in the 30th week of the Spanish championship at the Montilivi Stadium in Girona on Sunday.

Girona’s victory came thanks to goals from Artem Dovbyk (2) and Cristhian Stuani, while Real Betis responded with Willian Jose, according to the Spanish league records.

This victory consolidated Girona in third place in the Spanish league table with 65 points from 30 games, while Real Betis is still stuck in seventh place with 42 points.

Statistically, Girona was superior to Real Betis with a total of nine kicks and 57% ball possession.

The game was open for both teams and Betis had the first chance with a shot from Ayoze Perez still wide of the Girona goal.

Girona had a golden opportunity to take the lead first after being awarded a penalty because Betis defender Chadi Riad took it hand ball in the forbidden box.

Artem Dovbyk, who stepped up as the executioner, performed his task well after Rui Silva could not predict his shot, so the score changed to 1-0 in the 36th minute.

In injury time of the first half, Betis managed to equalize thanks to a goal from Willian Jose after taking advantage of an error from Girona defender David Silva, bringing the score back to 1-1. This score lasted until the end of the first half.

At the start of the second half, Girona took the initiative by attacking first and managed to take the lead again in the 65th minute with a shot from Dovbyk after using Cristian Portu’s pass, so the score changed to 2 -1.

Betis did not remain silent and managed to equalize again with Dovbyk’s second goal following a pass from Pablo Fornals, so much so that in the 76th minute the score changed to 2-2.

The home team managed to secure victory in the match. Cristhian Stuani managed to break into the Betis goal in the 90+2 minute and brought the score to 3-2 for Girona’s lead that lasted until the end of the match.

Next, in the 31st week of the Spanish championship, Girona will play a difficult match at Atletico Madrid, on Saturday (13/4), while Real Betis will host Celta Vigo, the day before.
