Finance Minister: Customs and excise case for SLB-subsidized goods will be resolved next Monday

Jakarta (MidLand) – Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati revealed that the Special Scholarship (SLB) case stuck at Customs and Excise will be resolved on Monday (29/4).

“Soekarno Hatta Customs and Excise will conclude this Monday with the SLB, hopefully it can be completed,” Sri Mulyani said in his statement on the official Instagram account @smindrawati, quoted in Jakarta, on Sunday.

The Minister of Finance explained the problem of the case.

Storage of donated goods in the form of keyboard The 20 units began when shipping services company DHL (PJT) announced delivery of the goods on December 18, 2022.

However, since the shipment was worth more than US$1,500, DHL filed a Special Notification of Import of Goods on December 28, 2022 and changed the destination from SLB as an entity to a natural person to the principal.

Customs and Excise then requested supporting documents for the application on 17 January 2023. However, the application process has not been taken forward since then, which has led to the goods being classified as Non-Controlled Goods (BTD) by of customs.

Sri Mulyani confirmed that the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) had contacted and communicated with the owner of the X account who popularized the case, namely Rizalz (@ijalzaid).

“There is currently good communication and response. “I have asked Customs and Excise to resolve the issue immediately, including the need for comprehensive documentation and treatment of import duties that may be excluded for donated goods, especially for SLB needs,” Sri said Mulyani.

In addition to the case of donation of goods for SLB, the Minister of Finance also confirmed two other cases related to customs, namely the delivery of imported shoes and action figure (robotic) was followed.

The import duty invoice for the imported shoes was paid by DHL as relevant PJT and invoice action figure was paid by the interested party.

Sri Mulyani asked the Bureau of Customs and Excise to continue to improve services and be proactive in providing education to the public regarding the policies of various ministries/institutions (K/L) to be implemented by the Bureau of Customs and of excise duties in accordance with the mandate of the Act (UU), namely the following: border guard, revenue collector, trade facilitatorAND industrial assistance.
