TIME.CO, Jakarta – It’s about a murder case student it’s been happening lately. According to the e-Management Investigation Development and Operations Bureau (Robinopsnal) Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) of the Indonesian National Police (Polri), as many as 20 students and university students were reported for the crime of homicide during 2022.
Most recently, the case of the murder of a UI student was committed by a Depok elder on Wednesday 2nd August. The following are murder cases involving students in Indonesia.
List of Indonesian student murder cases
1. Murder of Russian literature students of the UI
A third semester student majoring in Russian literature at the University of Indonesia (UI), Muhammad Naufal Zidan was killed by his senior Altafasalya Ardnika Basya in a boarding hall at Jalan Palakali RT 007 RW 005, Kukusan village, Beji district, Depok, Wednesday, 2nd August 2023. The perpetrators had the heart to snatch the life from its youngsters due to envy and debts with online loans (pinjol).
2. The UMY student mutilation case
A student of Yogyakarta Muhammadiyah University (UMY) Redho Tri Agustian was the victim of mutilation. The case began with the discovery of pieces of human bodies in five places of Sleman. The first find was in Bedog River, Kelor Bridge, Turi District, Sleman, Yogyakarta on Wednesday 12 July 2023.
Director of General Criminal Investigations for Yogyakarta Special Region Police (Polda DIY) and High Commissioner of Police (Kombespol) FX Endriadi said the victim and the perpetrator already knew each other through social media. All three are said to be members of an unnatural community. According to him, they engaged in excessive violent activities with each other.
3. Beatings of Unitri students
A student of Tribhuwana Tunggadewi University (Unitri) Krisnael Murri was the victim of a beating on June 25, 2023. Kasatreskrim Malang Iptu Wahyu Rizki Saputro Police said the victim died after being attacked by three people.
The suspects, who were under the influence of alcohol, admitted that they didn’t like the victim, so they spontaneously became emotional when they met.
4. The murder of a pregnant student

A student of the Faculty of Forest Sciences of Hasanuddin University (Unhas) was the victim of a murder committed by her lover, Joshua (24). Makassar City Police Resort officials said the perpetrator dared to kill his girlfriend with the initials M (21) on Saturday, June 10, 2023. The perpetrators did not accept it because the two had only been in a relationship for a month, while the victim was four months pregnant.
