Explanation of the Grace Period on the Card

Jakarta (MidLand) – Grace period is the period of time granted by cellular service providers after the end of the active period of a prepaid card.

During this grace period, users still have the option to top up credit or extend the activity period of their card so that it can still be used. It is important to understand the grace period so that your card does not expire and can still be used.

Definition of grace period

The grace period occurs when the active period of a prepaid card ends and the card has not fully expired. At this time, users can still receive incoming calls and SMS, but cannot make outgoing calls or send SMS.

The grace period offers users the possibility to extend the period of activity of the card by recharging credit or purchasing some packages offered by each operator.

Length of grace period

The length of the grace period varies depending on the policies of each carrier. In general, the grace period lasts 30 to 45 days after the end of the active period of the card. However, there are some carriers that provide a longer or shorter grace period.

The following is the length of the grace period provided by different cellular operators in Indonesia:

1. Telkomsel: 30-day grace period after the end of the active period.

2. Indosat Ooredoo: 30 day grace period.

3. XL Axiata: 30 day grace period.

4. Three: 30 day grace period.

5. Smart brake: 30 day grace period.

What happens if the grace period ends?

If the grace period expires and the user does not top up or extend the active period, the prepaid card will expire.

When the card expires, the user will no longer be able to use the number to receive or make calls, send or receive SMS or use Internet data services. In addition, any remaining credit and packages still on the card will also be lost and cannot be returned.

How to avoid losing cards

To avoid losing cards, users can do the following:

1. Check uptime periodically: Make sure to always check the active period of your prepaid card. This information can usually be found through the operator’s application, the official page or by sending a certain code via SMS.

2. Top up your credit regularly: Recharge your credit regularly before the end of the active period. This will automatically extend the active period of your card.

3. Use a reminder service: Some carriers provide active period reminder services that can be activated by users. This service will send a notification when the active period of the card is about to expire.

4. Choose a package with a long active period: There are several packages offered by operators that have a longer active period. Choosing this package can help you avoid having to frequently top up your credit.
