European Union approves additional support package of IDR 853 trillion for Ukraine
LONDON (Reuters) – European Union leaders approved an additional support package for Ukraine in the regional organisation’s budget on Thursday at an extraordinary meeting of the European Council in Brussels.
“We agree. The 27 leaders agreed on an additional support package of 50 billion euros (about 853 trillion rupees) for Ukraine according to the European Union budget,” said European Council President Charles Michael.
This came as EU leaders gathered for a special meeting in Brussels to discuss “urgent matters”, including support for Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East.
In December, leaders failed to agree on a 50 billion euro (about 853 trillion rupiah) financial aid package for Kiev due to opposition from Hungary.
