EdgeConneX inaugurates data campus expansion to support digital economy in Indonesia: Okezone techno

CIKARANG – EdgeConneX has launched plans to expand its data center campus in Jakarta after announcing the successful implementation of a major transaction worth $403.8 million for Sustainability-related facilities for the elderly,- which accelerates the company’s expansion plans and green initiatives for its data center in Jakarta, Indonesia.

This also paves the way for increased sustainability capabilities, including energy efficiency, renewable energy sources and improved security measures for EdgeConneX to develop several data centers in the region that will bring Indonesia’s hyperscale Jakarta campus to over 120 MW.

“We are very grateful to our customers who have driven demand for the significant expansion of data center capacity needed to support Indonesia’s digital economy,” he said on Wednesday (9/13/2023).

Invited guests were also present on the occasion, including the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves), Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan. According to Marves’ coordinating minister, EdgeConneX’s presence is aimed at developing the digital industry in Indonesia.

“Indonesia has a future agenda in the areas of industrialization, decarbonization, accessible and high-quality education, economic equality, digitalization and infrastructure. “Therefore, advanced facilities like those developed by EdgeConneX are very important to attract and encourage connectivity, cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI) and other important IT applications from leading companies,” Luhut said.

“By continuing to foster a cutting-edge technology ecosystem, Indonesia’s economy will continue to develop rapidly. Above all, this progress will be achieved with a strong commitment to sustainability, ensuring a greener and more resilient future.” He continued.
