Drum Band – West Java Aims to Win Gold at LKKB

West Java Drum Band team is aiming to win a gold medal in the Precision and Endurance Marching Competition (LKKB) National Sports Week (PON) XXI/2024 which will be held from Friday (13/9) to Monday (16/9).

“We are aiming for gold at the LKKB,” Iis Minarti, team manager of the West Java Drum Band, told reporters in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra, on Thursday.

Iis said that his party will optimize their strengths in accuracy and endurance to win the match number. He also added that they have started training at the match venue, Jalan Sultan Serdang, Kualanamu, North Sumatra

So far, the West Java Drum Band team has not won a single gold medal. They just won a silver medal in the women’s 600-meter short distance walk (LBJP) and a bronze medal in the LBJP 600-meter medley.

It is known that the LKKB drum band numbers consist of LKKB women’s 4,000 meters, men’s 6,000 meters, women’s 6,000 meters, men’s 8,000 meters, 6,000 meters mixed and 8,000 meters mixed. In addition to this, there is also a LKKB relay. All match numbers will be held at Jalan Sultan Serdang, Kualanamu, North Sumatra.

Previously, eight competitions were held in the PON 2024 drum band sport. The eight competitions were: short distance walking race 400 meters for women, 400 meters for men, 800 meters medley, 600 meters for women, 800 meters for men. 600 meters medley, race walk (LBB), as well as title competition (LUG).

There are a total of eight participating provinces, namely DKI Jakarta, Aceh, North Sumatra, West Java, East Java, Central Java, Central Kalimantan and DI Yogyakarta.

Of the eight numbers, the winners of six match numbers have been announced. Two numbers remain, namely LBB and LUG, whose winners have not yet been announced through an honorary ceremony. So far, the victory has been dominated by the province of North Sumatra, which has won gold medals in four events, namely the LBJP women’s 400 meters, women’s 600 meters, men’s 800 meters and 600 meters medley.
