Digital land transport services will be merged into the MitraDarat application
MidLand, Jakarta – The General Directorate of Land Transport of the Ministry of Transport plans to incorporate a number of digitally based road transport licensing technologies into the system application MitraDarat. MitraDarat plans to become a forum for all modality-related online services public land transportstarting from permits for the transport of people and goods, from the approval of the vehicle type, as well as from the supervision of crossing transports.
“To make things easier for the public, the General Directorate of Communications plans to bring all these applications into one port,” said Ministry of Transportation spokeswoman Adita Irawati in Jakarta, as reported by Antara on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.
A number of services that will be merged into MitraDarat include the online licensing system for land and multimodal transport (Spionam), the electronic safety management system (SMK), TemanBus, e-Tilang, SIwasOps, as well as information on river transport, lake and by ferry. and Registration Applications (AIR-SDP). Digital services for Design and Construction Test Registration Certificate (SRUT-RB), MyPerintis and Road Equipment Business Entity Certificate of Registration (TDBUPJ) are also available.
The MitraDarat application, he said, has been downloaded by 157,670 Android users and 11,500 iOS users, for a total of screen display or page visits 3,027,267 times through February 2024. Total user involvement or interaction with users reached 1,292,108 times.
One of the key features of MitraDarat so far, Adita continued, is the Fleet Management System (FMS) which has now been implemented in more than 15 Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) services. There are already 1,500 buses in 20 cities included in MitraDarat’s data collection.

“This feature (FMS) works so that the public can monitor bus timings and arrivals,” he said.
Adita said digitalisation is important to provide convenience and improve services to the community and stakeholders.
“Digitalisation in the transport sector is the right solution to provide effective and efficient public services. “Beyond that, it is also important to ensure transparency in the service process,” she said.
