Differences between business and home electricity rates, which is cheaper?

Jakarta (MidLand) – Electricity is a common consumption for people of various strata and elements, the primary category also includes electricity costs that must be paid by every household head for his daily needs.

Not only at the family level, these needs also include issues such as business needs, both of individuals and companies.

There are several types of tariff groups, including:

Domestic rate customers

Domestic tariff customers are individual customers or social entities whose electricity is used for domestic purposes.
Examples included in the family category include:

1. House to live in
2. Group of houses for rent
3. Individually owned apartments
4. Apartments owned by Perumnas
5. Family dormitories for employees of private companies
6. Student dormitory

Business rate customers

Customers included in the Business tariff group are customers where all or part of the electricity from PT PLN (Persero) is used for one or more activities in the form of:

1. Activities of buying and selling goods, services and hotels
2. Banking
3. Export/import business activity
4. Company, CV, PT or legal entity/individual operating in the commercial sector.
5. Warehouse activity in which part or all of the building is used for the storage of goods or materials
6. Sole proprietorships or legal entities whose activities consist mainly or entirely in the sale of goods or services
7. Other businesses with commercial tendencies such as medical practices and so on.

So which is more convenient between home electricity rates and business electricity rates? To see the comparison, here are the rates for both:

Home electricity rates

Electricity tariff group for small families R-1/TR Power 900 VA: IDR 1,352.00 per kWh.

Electricity tariff group for small families R-1/TR Power 1,300 VA: IDR 1,444.70 per kWh.

Electricity tariff group for small families R-1/TR Power 2,200 VA: IDR 1,444.70 per kWh.

Business electricity rates

Electricity tariff group for professional use B-2/TR power from 6,600 VA to 200 kVA: IDR 1,444.70 per kWh.

Electricity tariff groups for commercial purposes B-3/TR above 200 kVA: WBP block: IDR 1,035.78, LWBP block: IDR 1,035.78, kVArh: IDR 1,114.74 per kWh.

Commercial electricity tariff groups I-3/TR above 200 kVA: WBP block: IDR 1,035.78, LWBP block: IDR 1,035.78, kVArh: IDR 1,114.74 per kWh.
