Understanding the Cult of Mahdhah
The worship of Mahdhah is a form of worship that shows obedience or pure servitude by a servant to God. This act of worship enables everyone to obey Allah SWT through a series of acts of worship that have been determined.
In this cult, all aspects of its implementation have been determined according to the principles of Shari’a, including place, time, procedures and other provisions.
Because the worship of mahdhah is basically established with a certain goal for whoever performs it, namely to obtain a reward.
The cult of Mahdhah has the following characteristics: it must be based on the postulates of Islamic law, it can only be known through revelation and not through reason or culture, it is done to gain rewards such as provisions for the hereafter, and its application cannot be fully understood by humans.
In other words, not everyone can logically understand certain purposes in fulfilling obligations, especially in prayer.
Example of worship of Mahdhah
1. Perform prayers
Prayer is an obligatory form of mahdhah worship, established and ordained by Allah in the Quran. Prayer is an obligation that must be performed by every human being, including Fajr, Noon, Asr, Maghrib and Isha prayers.
2. Fasting in the month of Ramadan
Every Muslim is absolutely obliged to fast, especially during the month of Ramadan. Fasting, which is done for 29-30 days, is one of God’s commandments for His people to obtain rewards in the hereafter.
3. Payment of zakat
In the Islamic religion, humans are basically ordered to distribute part of their wealth to their fellow human beings who are entitled to it, such as the poor and those who receive zakat. This zakat aims to purify wealth and souls, as well as to help other human beings.
4. Go to Hajj
Hajj pilgrimage is one of the obligatory things for every human being if he can. Of course, during Hajj every Muslim wants to go to Mecca and perform a number of things that must be done, as well as asking for prayers more closely to Allah SWT.
5. Membaka Al-Quran
The holy book Al-Qur’an is a guide to life for humanity. Reading the Quran with the correct tartil is one of the highly recommended mahdhah services. Its implementation not only brings rewards but also helps to understand the Islamic teachings in a deeper way.
