Dahana is working on the Loading & Hauling project at the Mentarang main hydroelectric power station

Jakarta (Antara) — PT Dahana received the trust of PT Kayan Hydropower Nusantara to work on the project loading and transportation at the 1,375 megawatt Mentarang Main Hydroelectric Power Plant (PLTA) located in Malinau, North Kalimantan. This was stated by PT DAHANA Quarry & Construction Division GM Setio Budhianto in Jakarta on February 23, 2024.

According to Setio, his party achieved several jobs such as: Loading and transportation for road works, land preparation for explosives storage and construction of explosives depots.

“For job I, we were tasked with creating an access road connecting the explosives warehouse with the construction site road, including strengthening slopes and drainage. We also built explosives stores for dynamite, ammonium nitrate, emulsion AND detonator. Then there are the excavation and filling works (Cut and fill“), strengthening of slopes and road pavement started in July 2023,” Setio said in Jakarta on Thursday.

Furthermore, Dahana was entrusted with the execution of job II which consisted of providing operational and maintenance services of the explosives warehouse, as well as managing the storage of explosives for 6 years. Currently, the progress of the construction of the access road has reached approximately 550 meters.

The hydroelectric power plant, whose construction was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo in March 2023, has a total capacity of 1,375 megawatts at a cost of up to 2.6 billion dollars or the equivalent of 40 trillion and is built in collaboration with a Indonesian and Malaysian consortium. The Mentarang main hydropower plant is designed to support the Indonesian Green Industrial Zone (KIHI).

As the mecca of Indonesian explosives, Setio believes that Dahana’s explosives and superior human resources can meet consumer expectations by completing projects on time.

“With the work at the Mentarang Main hydroelectric power station, we believe this will be a prototype for Dahana’s work in the sector Loading and transportationso that in the future more and more consumers will trust their work Loading and transportation in Dahana”, concluded Setio.
