D-7 Eid, Jasa Marga recorded 149 thousand vehicles departing from Jabotabek

Cumulative traffic flow (traffic) figures from four major barriers/toll plazas (GTs).

Jakarta (MidLand) – PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk recorded that 149,674 vehicles left the Jabotabek area on D-7 of Eid al-Fitr 2024 or Wednesday (3/4).

“This figure is the cumulative traffic flow (traffic) figure from four main barriers/toll booths (GTs), namely GT Cikupa (direction towards Merak), GT Ciawi (direction towards Puncak) and GT Cikampek Utama (direction towards Trans Java ) and GT Kalihurip “Main (direction towards Bandung),” Jasa Marga corporate communications and community development group head Lisye Octaviana said in Jakarta on Thursday.

Lisye said the total volume of traffic exiting the Jabotabek area increased by 14.33% compared to normal traffic (from 130,916 vehicles). Compared to the Eid 2023 period, the total traffic volume is 16.40% lower (from 179,028 vehicles).

For the distribution of traffic departing from Jabotabek to the three directions, i.e. majority of 71,687 vehicles (47.90%) towards the east (Trans Java and Bandung), 47,256 vehicles (31.57%) towards the west (Merak) , and 30,731 vehicles (20 0.53%) towards the south (Puncak).

For traffic exiting Jabotabek towards Trans Java via GT Cikampek Utama on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road, with a total of 43,360 vehicles, an increase of 69.68% compared to normal traffic.

Traffic left Jabotabek towards Bandung via the Kalihurip Utama GT on the Cipularang toll road, with a total of 28,327 vehicles, an increase of 4.07% compared to normal traffic.

The total traffic departing from Jabotabek to Trans Java and Bandung via the two GTs was 71,687 vehicles, an increase of 35.84% compared to normal traffic.

Traffic departing Jabotabek to Merak via GT Cikupa on the Tangerang-Merak toll road was 47,256 vehicles, an increase of 1.0% compared to normal traffic.

Meanwhile, the number of vehicles leaving Jabotabek heading towards Puncak via Ciawi GT on the Jagorawi toll road was 30,731 vehicles, 1.99% less than normal traffic.

Lisye reminded that the 20% fare discount is in effect from Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 05:00 WIB until tomorrow Friday, April 5, 2024 at 05:00 WIB for Trans Java Toll Road from Jakarta to Semarang during the period of homecoming.

“The purpose of implementing this toll discount is to spread out traffic that is expected to begin increasing on Friday, April 5, 2024 and avoid concentrating at one point in time at the peak of homebound traffic that is expected to decrease on Saturday, April 6, 2024 So we again invite the public to be able to “make the return trip in advance to maximize the 20% discount on the fare,” Lisye said.
