Coventry progressed to the semi-finals of the FA Cup after beating Wolves 3–2
Jakarta (MidLand) – Coventry City eliminated Wolverhampton Wanderers from the FA Cup after the Championship League second division club won 3-2 in the FA Cup quarter-finals at Molineux Stadium on Saturday evening.
This is Coventry’s second FA Cup semi-final since the 1987 edition, when they won the competition.
The Championship League second division club took the lead thanks to a goal from Ellis Simms in the 53rd minute, but were drawn and even beaten by Wolves 2-1 after goals from Rayan Ait-Nouri and Hugo Bueno in the ‘span of five minutes in the last seven minutes, second half of regulation.
However, in the extra minutes of the second half, it was the visitors’ turn to come back by scoring two goals that determined their victory.
Wolves looked confident of being the first team to have a ticket to the semi-finals of this edition of the FA Cup, but Simms equalized in the 90+7 minute.
Simms also set up Coventry’s winning goal in the 90+10 minute when he provided the assist for Haji Wright’s goal.

It was at that stadium last year that they were knocked out by Luton Town in the Championship play-off final in the battle for a ticket to promotion to the Premier League.
It was also at this stadium that they beat Tottenham in 1987 and lifted the FA Cup trophy.
Coventry will only find out their opponents in the semi-finals on Saturday, when the draw for the last four is made, after all the quarter-final matches have finished, including Manchester City-Newcastle United and Manchester United-Liverpool.
