Corruption Eradication Committee quits Banjarbaru police after questioning South Kalimantan officials about OTTs
Banjarbaru (MidLand) – A number of investigators from the Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) left the police headquarters in Banjarbaru after carrying out an inspection lasting approximately 1 x 24 hours in the criminal investigation unit (Satreskrim ) after questioning a number of officials from the South Kalimantan Provincial Government (Pemprov Kalsel) regarding the sting operation (OTT) on Sunday evening (10/6).
Based on field observations at the Banjarbaru Police Headquarters, on Monday, around 12.48 WITA, KPK investigators started to leave the building after carrying out a series of checks carrying around 10 suitcases, several cardboard boxes and bags suspected of containing files and evidence related to the case investigation process.

Investigators did not catch South Kalimantan provincial government officials who had been intensively interrogated overnight. The detectives left the Banjarbaru Police Station using five four-wheelers, namely a patrol car, three white Daihatsu brand cars and a silver Toyota car. . Investigators from the Committee for the Eradication of Corruption receive close surveillance by the police.
When some journalists asked for information, KPK investigators refused to make a statement after carrying out an inspection at the Banjarbaru police headquarters since Sunday evening (10/6).
At 1.12pm on Monday WITA, a number of journalists were still waiting outside the building, and it is suspected that the South Kalimantan provincial government officials who were being interrogated had not yet left the room of the criminal investigation unit of the Banjarbaru police.

Earlier on Sunday evening (10/6), the KPK investigation team carried out an arrest operation (OTT) against state officials within the South Kalimantan provincial government.
Information about the activities of KPK investigators was confirmed by the vice-president of the Commission for the Elimination of Corruption, Nurul Ghufron.
“It’s true, the KPK is actively carrying out arrests,” Ghufron said after the confirmation in Jakarta on Sunday evening.
However, Ghufron did not provide further explanation on the identity of the state officials involved in the operation, nor on the details of the case.
After Sunday evening’s examination, KPK investigators are still examining numerous witnesses at the Banjarbaru police.
