A total of 47,987 visitors filled the National Monument (Monas) area in central Jakarta on Sunday.
“Temporary data at 2pm WIB recorded that 47,987 visitors had come to Monas,” said Monas Area Management Unit (UPK) head Muhammad Isa Sarnuri when confirmed in the Monas area, Jakarta.
Isa explained that the number of visitors from 8.00 to 10.00 at the WIB was 24,822 visitors, with a breakdown of 20,329 adults, 4,458 children and 35 foreign tourists.
The Monas area has an event called “Monas Week December 2023” which will be held from 24 to 31 December 2023.
“Monas Week December 2023” hosts a dancing fountain which takes place in two sessions i.e. 7.30pm to 8.00pm WIB and 8.30pm to 9.00pm WIB. Subsequently the video mapping will be held at 8.00-8.30pm WIB and at 9.00-9.30pm WIB.
The provincial government of DKI Jakarta (Pemprov) has prepared a series of activities to celebrate the New Year 2024 along Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin and the Monas area.
