China completes new round of tests on Space Shuttle liquid rocket engines

Jakarta (MidLand) – China has been actively developing space propulsion technology in recent years, and the latest achievement was a successful ground-firing test (ignition from the ground) a 130-ton liquid oxygen and kerosene engine that will power a reusable carrier rocket, namely the shuttle (reusable) belongs to that country.

Xinhua, quoted in Jakarta on Monday, said the rocket was developed by an institute under the auspices of the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. The new reusable engine was launched twice on Friday (12/4) at a test site in Shaanxi province, West China Sea.

So far, the machine has completed a total of 15 repeat tests consisting of 30 starts, with a cumulative test time of over 3,900 seconds. The number of repeated tests on the engine surpassed the previous record for tests of a liquid rocket main engine in China, its developers said in a news report on Sunday.

This engine model, which serves as the main propulsion system for China’s Space Shuttle rockets, has outstanding comprehensive capabilities and reliability.

The machine manufacturer also highlighted the progress made in intelligent manufacturing, saying that the research and development team has created a core technological system for the production of reusable machines. This significantly promotes the progress and stability of manufacturing process technology and ensures consistent product quality and reliability.
